August 2010

Until recently, Montgomery County was primarily farmland. With a protected Agricultural Reserve, the county maintains its connection to farming. Celebrating those values, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair opens on August 13. Go to the fair to commune with farm animals and watch the judging. Go to enjoy the agricultural crafts. Go to watch the tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and monster trucks. Go to eat a funnel cake—and try to keep it down as you whirl inside a midway ride. The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair runs thru Aug 21. 10 AM-Midnight. Info: www.mcagfair.com.
